The Health Board has continued to strengthen its leadership and new Board dynamic with the appointment of a number of substantive senior appointments to the Board, giving the skills and expertise needed to lead the organisation. This includes the appointment of a permanent Chair and Chief Executive. New Independent Members have also been appointed to the Board to provide support, scrutiny and expertise.
Another development at senior level has been the significant progress made on reducing senior interim roles. In December 2022, there were 41 senior interims in post, in December 2023 this had reduced to two.
These improvements at a senior level have been reflected in the re-review of Board Effectiveness by Audit Wales, which points towards positive progress being made.
Our Governance Team has been strengthened by a number of new key appointments, including a new Director of Corporate Governance.
