Assessments

The following are standardised assessments that may be used by specific therapists to enhance their understanding of a child's skills. Whether they are used or not depends on the reason for the referral, the service's and the preference of the individual therapist. These standardised assessments are not an occupational therapy assessment but may be used as part of the overall OT assessment process.

Movement Assessments

The choice of movement assessment is dependent on many factors such as age, learning level, concentration, compliance or may just be down the the personal preference of the therapist.

These movement assessments include both gross motor skills, such as running, jumping, hopping and throwing and catching and fine motor skills,  such as drawing, peg boards threading, coin posting. The assessments are non-invasive and good fun.
