Becoming independent in washing can give a child a sense of achievement. It is part of growing up. If you are using laminated pictures to prompt the child to remember the sequence of steps, they can be put on the wall of the bathroom or shower. Washing hair is often part of the process but may not be needed each day. If a certain step is regularly forgotten (e.g not rinsing the hair fully when it is washed), it can be highlighted on a laminated checklist on the wall.
