Weekend and Public Holiday Information: Monkeypox

The risk to the general public from Monkeypox is still low. It is usually mild and most people will recover within a few weeks without any treatment.

Our Sexual Health appointment lines are closed at weekends and bank holidays. Information on the opening times and the contact numbers for our appointment lines are available below. For all queries during weekends and bank holidays relating to Monkeypox you should call NHS 111 Wales immediately if you have a rash with blisters and if any of the following apply:

  • you have been in close contact with someone who has or might have Monkeypox (even if they have not been tested yet) in the past three weeks
  • you have been to West or Central Africa, Spain, Portugal or USA in the past three weeks
  • you are a man who has sex with men

Please stay at home and avoid close contact with other people until you've been told what to do.
