Temporary change to our Dermatology service

Due to ongoing recruitment challenges within Dermatology in the Gwynedd and Anglesey areas of our Health Board we need to make short-term changes to our service.

The majority of patients who need to see a Consultant and who live in these counties will be offered a clinic appointment at another hospital or health centre in North Wales during this period. 

Our Nurse led Dermatology clinics at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Ysbyty Alltwen, Ysbyty Penrhos Stanley and Llandudno Hospital will continue as normal. Our GPs with a special interest in skin cancer will also continue with their clinics in the community.

We have worked with our clinicians to develop plans to increase capacity for Dermatology, in particular for our urgent suspected skin cancer patients. To help us see more patients quickly we will be introducing extra clinics during the evenings and weekends.

Any patients impacted by this temporary change will be contacted with an offer of appointment in due course.
