Maggie's Centre North Wales

Check into this page regularly to see updates about the exciting new Maggie’s Centre, which is being built on the Glan Clwyd Hospital site in Bodelwyddan, North Wales.

Maggie’s provides free support for people with cancer across the United Kingdom, as well as their family and friends, in its warm and welcoming centres.

Expert staff, who help people to live well with cancer, provide a breathing space away from clinical environments. Glan Clwyd was chosen for the new Maggie’s because it is also the site of the North Wales Cancer Treatment Centre.

Here a person living with the disease can meet people who understand what they’re going through, or just take a moment to gather their thoughts.

The Steve Morgan Foundation has kindly agreed to support the project financially, having funded the capital project for Maggie’s Wirral, on the grounds of the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, in 2021.

Maggie’s was founded by Maggie Keswick Jencks and her husband Charles Jencks after she was told in May 1993 that her breast cancer had returned.

Possible disruption to traffic flow on Glan Clwyd Hospital site

To facilitate construction work on the new Maggie’s Cancer Support Centre at Glan Clwyd Hospital, there will be some alterations to traffic flow on site.

From Thursday, July 11, there may be disruption for vehicles entering Glan Clwyd Hospital via the main road off the roundabout, with a lane closure in effect.

These works are necessary to make adaptations to road markings and the entrances to the car park before building construction starts on the centre. Priority will be given to emergency ambulances at all times.

Our apologies for any inconvenience this will cause.

We will keep you updated about the development and any further on-site traffic issues on our website, here: Maggie's Centre North Wales - Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (nhs.wales)
