New Director of Corporate Governance appointed

Pam Wenger has been appointed as the new Director of Corporate Governance at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.

As a qualified Chartered Governance Professional with 30 years of experience of working in the NHS in Wales and England, as well as the Independent Sector, Pam will be the key advisor to the Board and wider organisation on corporate governance, leading improvements to the health board’s systems and processes.

Carol Shillabeer, Chief Executive, said: “We are delighted to be able to welcome Pam to our senior leadership team. She has a wealth of experience and expertise to help us on our journey of improvement and strengthen the way we work as a health board.

“Having robust governance in place is a critical part of the way we are building an effective organisation and, as part of this, Pam will be at the heart of enabling us to have this in place.”

Pam said: “I am excited about the opportunity to come and be part of the leadership team at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.

“It is a real privilege to be given the opportunity to take on the role and to make a difference for the population of North Wales.”

Pam will join the Health Board in April 2024.
