Be Active

How can I support my child to be active…

  • We encourage our child to participate in activities and their role in society independently, taking increasing responsibility for getting to their activities.
  • We support our child to independently mix with others outside of education, employment or training in a safe way.
  • We support our child to take part in activities that interest them independently.
  • We demonstrate respect towards ourselves and others and take care of the things we own/use; and encourage our child to do so too.
  • We encourage our child to try new things and take part in new activities, maintaining interest in these.
  • We discuss diversity and the importance of this with our child and help them to understand the value of diversity.
