The North Wales Bone Unit and Osteoporosis Service

  • The North Wales Bone Unit and Osteoporosis Service provides support to patients who have sustained a fracture. The Osteoporosis nurses capture weekly fracture data from Emergency Departments, Orthopaedic wards and fracture clinic outpatients to identify all patients over the age of 50 who have sustained a fracture.
  • Patients can contact the North Wales Bone Unit and Osteoporosis Service helpline on 03000 850051 (press option 5) to discuss treatment, therapies and other queries.
  • The Metabolic Bone Consultants run a weekly metabolic bone clinic to assess patients with severe osteoporosis and a range of other metabolic bone diseases such as Paget’s disease, osteomalacia and osteogenesis imperfecta.
  • The Bone Unit is available Monday to Friday, at the Intravenous Therapy suite/Tudno Ward where patients will receive therapies for osteoporosis.
