TRICORDER is a collaboration between us, the NHS North Central London Integrated Care System and Imperial College London.
It is looking to determine if providing GPs with Eko DUO, a cardiac assessment tool that functions as an electrocardiogram (ECG) and digital stethoscope, increases early detection of heart failure for patients, and if this saves money for the NHS, by recruiting GP practices across North West London and North Wales to a cluster randomised controlled trial – in which half will be selected at random to receive the Eko DUO, and half will not.
In practices with access to Eko DUO, we will measure if this is associated with increased detection of heart failure, reduced diagnosis through emergency hospital admission, and reduced NHS costs.
