Vascular Laboratory

Non-invasive tests of the arteries and veins in the head, neck, arms, abdomen and legs are performed in the vascular laboratory. The tests are carried out by vascular scientists or vascular sonographers. Most of the procedures involve an ultrasound scan, although some involve measuring blood pressures. These tests can help to diagnose and treat many vascular conditions, such as peripheral vascular disease, aneurysms, venous insufficiency, stroke, and are used for planning and monitoring of dialysis fistula.
