Diabetes

Diabetes is a condition that causes a person's blood sugar level to become too high. There are two main types of diabetes.

Type 1 diabetes

Type 1 diabetes is where the body's immune system attacks and destroys the cells that produce insulin. You can find further information and support on Type 1 diabetes here.

Type 2 diabetes

Type 2 diabetes is where the body doesn't produce enough insulin, or the body's cells don't react to insulin.

You can check your Type 2 diabetes risk using the calculating tool on Diabetes UK website.
