You Said, We Did:

You Said

  1. You told us our webpages did not have up to date information and were not child friendly. You also told us that you wanted them to be more colourful and have better explanations of what to expect from CAMHS.
  2. 12-18 year olds in Denbighshire told us through the Experience of Service Questionnaires that they don’t always like appointments to be in the morning.
  3. Wrexham young people did a consultation on the environment in the child health building. This included having more colourful rooms, art work and better outside spaces.
  4. You told us you wanted to have an option to see a member of the CAMHS Team in crisis without always having to go to the Emergency Department because it can be scary and not always the best place.

We Did

  1. We have worked with lots of staff, partners, children and young people to make the CAMHS webpages more appealing. We’ve used a rights-based approach in directly addressing the information to the children and young people who come to see us. We are excited to keep working on them and hope to have more videos and information in 2025.
  2. We have changed who we invite to morning appointments and have opened up more clinics in the afternoon to see 12-18 year olds.
  3. We have worked together with young people to design art work for the rooms. We have also re-vamped the outside space to make sure children and young people have access to play and relax in the garden.
  4. Our new ‘A2A’ hub has opened last month and is supporting families to be seen at the Alternatives to Admission hub rather than attending the Emergency Department. There is still lots of work to be done however families are already telling us how much they prefer the new hub.
