What happens after I have been seen for my assessment?

We will stay in touch with you and offer you at least one follow up appointment to review your emotional wellbeing and safety plan. We would also consider what support networks are available to you, what referrals to other services may be helpful. Unscheduled Care are a short term intervention service and so if any longer term intervention is something you would benefit from, we would refer you to the local community CAMHS team.

We understand that the Emergency Department and meeting new people can be a daunting time and you are welcome to bring any distraction objects with you that you may feel help to make you more comfortable. The Emergency Department may be busy and you may be there a number of hours so we advise you to bring something to eat and drink or some money with you. We work really hard to see you on the same day but sometimes this isn’t possible so bringing an overnight bag might be helpful to you.
