Oncology services are provided at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Glan Clwyd Hospital and Wrexham Maelor Hospital, with outpatient clinics and day case chemotherapy units being available through the working week.
Admission for supportive care as a result of oncology treatment is possible on all three sites, with out of hours advice being available from Alaw and Enfys Wards at Ysbyty Gwynedd and Glan Clwyd Hospital respectively. Inpatient oncology beds are available within the aforementioned wards.
The service maintains close clinical links with oncology services in Liverpool and Manchester, working with them to deliver services for rarer cancers.
Oncology services are delivered by both Clinical Oncologists and Medical Oncologists with a number of Registrars, Associate Specialists, Speciality Doctors and a highly experienced nursing team.
There is an active clinical trials portfolio associated with oncology services which is managed by the Welsh Cancer Trials Network.
