New SMS Surveys launched to help improve patient experience

15/06/2023

People who attend an outpatient appointment in one of our hospitals, clinics or medical centres will now be asked to complete a short survey of their experience to help gather information about services.

From Monday, 19 June, people will receive an SMS message with an invitation to complete a survey the day after their appointment. Initially this will be to people who attend our outpatient department and are over the age of 18.

Rachel Wright, Patient and Carer Experience Lead said: “We are always looking at ways in which we can strengthen engagement with patients, relatives and carers and provide further opportunities to gain feedback about our services.

“The SMS Survey delivery will provide patients with a convenient and confidential way to tell us about their experience at a recent appointment. We can gather valuable information that can be used to identify areas where we are doing well, as well as finding out about areas in which we need to improve.”

People who receive a message with a link inviting them to complete the confidential survey will not be asked for any personal details. There is an option to opt out of receiving surveys via SMS by following a link provided on the message.
