Tŷ Croes Atti officially opens its doors

Flintshire County Council is proud to announce the completion of its newest care home, Tŷ Croes Atti, marking an important milestone in the provision of high-quality care for the local community.

The state-of-the-art facility is now officially open and the first residents have moved in, beginning the next chapter of their lives in a welcoming and supportive environment.

The project is a partnership between Flintshire County Council, Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB), Willmott Dixon and Welsh Government, and provides a home for 56 older people on the site of a former community hospital.

Integrated social care and health care services will be delivered by BCUHB and Flintshire County Council social services teams.

Councillor Christine Jones, Cabinet member for Social Services, said: “We are thrilled to welcome our first residents to Tŷ Croes Atti. This new care home reflects our ongoing commitment to providing excellent care and support in Flintshire. We are proud to offer a warm and welcoming place where residents can feel at home, safe and valued.”

The opening of Ty Croes Atti represents a significant investment in Flintshire’s social care, ensuring older people and those in need of support have access to modern, local care services.

The scheme is being funded via the Welsh Government’s Integration and Rebalancing Capital Fund (IRCF) and Housing with Care Fund (HCF) capital programmes and through Flintshire County Council’s capital programme.

Minister for Children and Social Care, Dawn Bowden said:

“It’s brilliant to hear the first residents have moved into their new, high-quality home at Tŷ Croes Atti.

“The project is a fantastic example of what can be achieved when organisations work together and I’m delighted our funding has secured for Flintshire the sort of community capacity we need for the new, integrated models of care we are prioritising across Wales.”

Mike Lane, Operations Director for Willmott Dixon, said: “What fantastic news that Croes Atti care home residents have now moved into their new home. Our team are privileged to have spent time with residents, their families and staff. We’re proud to have played our part in helping deliver first-class health and social care for the people of Flintshire."

BCUHB’s Chief Operating Officer, Tehmeena Ajmal, said: “I’m absolutely delighted Tŷ Croes Atti has welcomed its first residents.

“We are proud to be partners with Flintshire County Council, Welsh Government and Willmott Dixon in this important development. It underlines our commitment to our communities and working collaboratively to provide the appropriate care they need.

“Tŷ Croes Atti represents another vital step on the journey to providing the right care, in the right places, at the right times for the people of North Wales.”

We are now recruiting care and support workers to join our dedicated team at Tŷ Croes Atti. We offer a comprehensive induction and training programme, and new team members will benefit from the support and guidance of an experienced management team.
