We are asking for your support to help limit the spread of viruses

Please help us to limit the spread of in infections at our hospital sites

As our hospital sites continue to face the challenges of winter , we are asking for your support to help limit the spread of viruses such as flu, norovirus, and COVID-19. If you’re feeling unwell with a cough, cold, sore throat, diarrhoea, vomiting, or a high temperature, please avoid visiting a patient at hospital to protect staff, and other patients.

Guidance for visitors:

  • Do not visit a patient at hospital if you have had flu like symptoms or norovirus, and please avoid visiting if you have been in contact with someone who has had symptoms, in the last 48 hours

  • Wash your hands or use hand sanitiser before and after entering any wards or clinical areas.

  • Visitors are not permitted to sit on patient beds or use patient toilets to help prevent the spread of infection.

  • You may notice facemasks in some areas of our hospitals. Masks will be available for patients and visitors who choose to wear one.

  • There are simple actions you can take to help stop the spread of germs, such as covering your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze and washing your hands regularly.

  • The NHS flu vaccine and COVID-19 booster can help protect the most vulnerable against serious illness and reduce the circulation of these viruses in the community. We urge everyone eligible for the vaccines to take up the offer this winter.

Let’s work together to protect those most vulnerable this winter. Thank you for your support.
