Ferdi and Kate Vitug, Intensive Care Unit

A father and daughter will spend Christmas looking after the sickest patients in the hospital at Ysbyty Gwynedd.

Ferdi and Kate Vitug both work at the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit where they will be working their shifts on 25 December.

Kate has been in her Staff Nurse role for six months and her father, Ferdi, has worked on the unit for 22 years.

She said: “We normally have our Christmas on Christmas Eve but it will be nice to be together on the actual day this year and spend it with our colleagues.”

Ferdi added: “I have worked a number of Christmas days over the years, it comes with the job but we always try and make it special on Cybi. We hope to still enjoy some festive food and celebrate as much as we can with colleagues while we continue to care for our patients.”
