All urgent cancer surgery has continued throughout the pandemic.

We are currently offering reduced clinics for all face-to-face diagnosed colorectal and breast cancers. 

Our Rapid Breast Assessment Clinics for symptomatic patients have continued throughout COVID-19 at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Llandudno Hospital, Glan Clwyd Hospital and Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

From the end of July Breast screening re-commenced, although presently not offered via mobile screening units. Invitations for screening will direct you to either the Wrexham or Llandudno assessment units at this time.

Surgery for breast cancer has continued throughout the pandemic and will continue to do so.

From mid-July the following day case treatments resumed at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Wrexham Maelor Hospital and Glan Clwyd Hospital:

  • Urgent inguinal hernia repair
  • Urgent Colonoscopy and Endoscopy cases

From mid-July the following elective surgeries resumed at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Wrexham Maelor Hospital and Glan Clwyd Hospital:

  • Urgent Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy

Urgent Upper Gastro-intestinal surgery is continuing and our capacity for upper and Lower gastro-intestinal surgery has now increased.

Urgent Vascular procedures are continuing.
