I CAN Mental Health Awareness Training

What is I CAN Mental Health Awareness Training?

Developed by NHS mental health professionals, I CAN Mental Health Awareness Training provides an overview of common mental health problems as well as best practice guidance on how to listen, give helpful advice, and look after your own mental health and wellbeing.

It has been introduced through our I CAN campaign, which aims to provide earlier support for people experiencing mental health difficulties, empower people to take control of managing their mental health, and encourage open conversations about the topic.

Will I receive a qualification?

You won’t receive a formal qualification, but you will receive a certificate, badge and window sticker which we hope will act as a means of prompting open, honest and informed conversations about mental health with friends, family members and colleagues.

Who can receive the training?

The training is open to anybody who would like a better understanding of mental health.

How long will the training take?

The training takes approximately three hours to complete.

Where will the training be delivered?

The training is delivered face to face (not via e-learning at this stage) and we hope to deliver regular sessions across all six counties of North Wales. It may be possible for us to deliver the training in your place of work, if you have a large number of employees.

We would be very grateful of suggestions for venues where this training could be delivered at low or no-cost, in order to allow us to continue to offer this.

Other ways to get involved

We have a number a volunteering opportunities available. Further information can be provided during the training or you can view our volunteering page here.
