Breathing and relaxation techniques

The emphasis is on using breathing to help you stay relaxed, which helps you cope with the pain. Relaxation doesn’t take away pain, but when you are relaxed you experience less pain.

Hypnobirthing is a great method of breathing that can be used as a form of pain relief during your labour. Hypnobirthing uses a mixture of visualisation, breathing techniques and relaxation and can be used regardless of what mode of birth you choose.
