Mike Parry

Mike is passionate about supporting the National Health Service, with particular interests on rural areas and has been a member of the Health Board’s Stakeholder Reference Group (SRG) since 2019, where he represents One Voice Wales. 

Mike is currently the Mayor of Pwllheli for the second time and he was also a District Councillor for 13 years.  Mike was the last Chair of Dwyfor District Council, which came to an end in 1996 with the advent of Local Government Reorganisation. He also served as a Director of North Wales Tourism for five years.

Following completion of an electrical engineering apprenticeship at two nuclear power stations, Mike went to work in Oman. Upon his return to the UK, Mike established an electrical contracting business and a retail fashion outlet. Mike also qualified as a Business Advisor and worked for an Enterprise Agency for nearly three years. He followed this by working for a regional Fishing Association and helped found the Welsh Federation of Fishermen's Associations (WFFA), and became their National Secretary.  During this period, he represented Wales and attended European Regional Council meetings all over Europe. Mike also facilitated exhibitions at the European Seafood Exhibitions in Brussels on behalf of the Welsh Fishing industry and the Welsh Development Agency.

Mike is originally from Anglesey and married to a former Matron, who has returned to BCUHB as a part time COVID-19 Clinical Investigator.
