Dr Sreeman Andole was appointed as Interim Executive Medical Director and has joined the Health Board on 1 December.
Dr Andole, known as Sree, brings a wealth of experience as a stroke consultant with several years of expertise in clinical practice and leadership. He has held numerous senior appointments, including serving as Executive Medical Director at Manx Care, University Hospitals of Derby and Burton, and the East of England Ambulance NHS Trust.
Dr Andole has also contributed significantly to healthcare improvement in roles such as Improvement Director and Assistant Medical Director for NHS England and Improvement.
Alongside this, Dr Andole has also served as a Non-Executive Secondary Care Physician for Southend-on-Sea CCG and as an Associate Professor in Stroke Medicine. He is a recognised expert, having served as a committee member for NICE, and is a Senior Fellow of the Faculty of Leadership and Management. His contributions to healthcare have been widely acknowledged, with accolades such as the Professional Excellence Award for stroke (Stroke Association award) and the HSJ BME Pioneer Award. He has also been a judge for the HSJ Awards.
He is also a case assessor for MBRRACE-UK (Mothers and Babies: Reducing Risk through Audits and Confidential Enquiries across the UK) is a national program that conducts confidential enquiries into maternal deaths and aims to improve maternal and infant care by identifying lessons and making national recommendations . His career highlights include successfully leading organizations out of special measures, implementing digital strategies, restructuring medical directorates, and championing equality, diversity, and inclusion initiatives
Dr Andole is deeply passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and remains actively engaged in education and inspection as a Care Quality Commission Inspector. He also serves as an advisor to the Parliamentary Ombudsman and the Welsh Government.
