We are part of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health services, and we work with families, professionals, and young people to offer a brief intervention of support and guidance for young people who are struggling with thoughts and feelings, low mood, anxiety who do not need a mental health assessment.
Wherever you are seen, whether in the community, or one of our buildings, you will be seen in a safe and confidential space and given the chance to explore and talk about any difficulties.
You and your parents or carers will know your GP or school has referred you to us, we will need both you and your parent or carer to agree (Consent) to the referral and treatment.
We will need to meet your parent/carer and teachers to help put a plan in place to help you, we might not always need to see you.
We offer brief interventions for anxiety, low mood, struggles with friends or family, social interactions, school or home life.
We would prefer to meet with you or your parents, carers or teachers face to face but we can also offer video calls or telephone appointments if necessary.
We want you to feel at ease and comfortable when seeing you, so while you don’t need to bring anything with you please do bring anything with you (except pets) which will help you feel comfortable such as headphones, a book or something to distract you.
