BCUHB Statement on All-Wales Review of Maternity and Neonatal Services
Carol Shillabeer, Chief Executive, said: "The Health Board welcomes the Cabinet Secretary’s announcement of an all-Wales assurance assessment of maternity and neonatal services and fully support this important work and the commitment to shared learning across the NHS in Wales.
"As a learning organisation, we are continuously striving to improve the quality, safety and experience of care for all women, babies and families. We acknowledge that services face challenges from time to time and remain steadfast in our determination to identify areas for improvement and act on them.
"Over the past decade, we have made significant changes to strengthen our maternity and neonatal services, and we are committed to building on this progress. Our ambition is to be among the best in Wales and the UK.
"Listening to women, families and staff is very important to us and we are committed to taking forward views in shaping future services. The national review presents a vital opportunity to reflect, learn and work collectively across health boards to deliver safer, more compassionate and more responsive care.
