We appreciate that the roadworks outside of Ysbyty Gwynedd have created challenges over the last two weeks, particularly around access into and out of the hospital during peak times. We have been actively monitoring the situation and worked with the contractors to help ease traffic flow during peak times.
We have been liaising with the contractors who have notified us of their programme for the next stage of the works which is as follows:
Staff are kindly reminded to be considerate of our neighbours and local businesses by parking thoughtfully and respectfully when using off-site parking areas.
We are liaising with the contractors throughout this period and will continue to keep staff informed of any significant changes to the programme.

We wish to advise all patients and visitors to prepare for potential delays due to roadworks set to begin near Ysbyty Gwynedd on Tuesday, 22 April.
The works, taking place between Ysbyty Gwynedd roundabout and Ffordd Cae Cilmelyn, are expected to cause significant disruption to traffic flow in the area with increased congestion.
To help avoid delays and ensure appointments are not missed, all patients and visitors are strongly encouraged to allow extra travel time when coming to the hospital.
Paul Andrew, Integrated Health Community Director of Operations for the West of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, said: “Due to the upcoming roadworks in the surrounding area, we kindly advise all patients and visitors to allow additional time when travelling to the hospital. These works are likely to cause delays, and we want to ensure everyone arrives on time for their appointments.
“We appreciate your cooperation and understanding during this period.”
The roadworks are in place to deliver part of the Penrhos Road Active Travel Scheme, a project to enhance walking and cycling provision in the area, on behalf of Cyngor Gwynedd.
Traffic management is due to be in operation 24 hours a day from Monday to Friday. Temporary traffic lights will be used to control traffic flow, which will be manually operated between 7.30am and 8pm.
We do not envisage any weekend working during this project. However, if required the traffic management will be manually operated as per weekdays timings.
The work is expected to continue for approximately 10 weeks
