Approximately 7,500 people experience a stroke in Wales each year and there are almost 70,000 stroke survivors living with consequences of stroke.

Stroke can strike anyone, at any time, but acting fast means there’s a better the chance to save brain cells and improve recovery.

This Stroke Awareness Month, our Stroke Prevention Teams are holding events to raise awareness about stroke, how to spot the signs early, and what steps we can all take to help prevent strokes in ourselves and others:

Recognising the symptoms of a stroke

A stroke can happen to anyone, of any age, at any time. It's vital to know how to spot the signs of a stroke.

The easiest way to remember these symptoms is the word FAST:
