New Executive Director of Workforce and Organisational Development appointment

Debbie Eyitayo has been appointed as the new Executive Director of Workforce and Organisational Development. She will start in her new role in early February.

Debbie joins the Health Board from Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Health Board where she held the role of Chief People Officer. Prior to that she had roles as Executive Director of Workforce and Organisational Development at Swansea Bay University Health Board and Executive Director of People at Epsom and St Helier Hospitals NHS Trust.

Carol Shillabeer, Chief Executive, said: “I am delighted to share the news that Debbie will join our Executive leadership team as the new Executive Director of Workforce and Organisational Development. Debbie will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to support and develop our workforce, and help the Health Board to build a strong, sustainable foundation for delivering patient care for the future.”

Debbie is an experienced human resources and organisational development professional, having begun her career in the early 1990s initially as a civil servant at the Crown Prosecution Service, before joining the NHS in 2000.

During her NHS career, Debbie has held a number of roles within the acute and community sector as well as integrated care organisations and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

Debbie is passionate about creating a positive and supportive work environment where everyone can thrive, and ensuring that the organisation is a place where all voices are heard and valued, and health and care colleagues are supported to reach their full potential to the benefit of the local population that they serve.
