North Wales Cancer Patient Forum

The North Wales Cancer Patient Forum is a network of people living in North Wales who have been affected by cancer. They share an interest in improving cancer care for others.

The Forum recognises that the personal experience of cancer patients, family and friends brings a special understanding and knowledge of cancer care. Their views and ideas have an important part to play in helping to shape and transform cancer services.

By working together with Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board and a range of other cancer-related organisations, people involved with the Forum are able to make a real difference.

What are the aims of the Forum?

  • To share opportunities for the views of people affected by cancer to be heard and brought to the heart of service improvement and cancer research
  • To support representation of people from diverse backgrounds and cancer experiences.
  • To encourage meaningful ‘user’ involvement by working together with organisations responsible for cancer care and research.
  • To keep in touch with the wider views and experiences of patients, family and friends.

Who can get involved?

The Cancer Patient Forum is open to anyone living in North Wales who has experience of cancer treatment, or of caring for a cancer patient.

We strive towards making the Forum as diverse as possible in terms of where people live, the type(s) of cancer they are experiencing or have experienced, and their personal backgrounds and circumstances.

How can you get involved?

If you have personal experience of cancer, and an interest in improving services and care for others, you will have something to offer the North Wales Cancer Patient Forum. Please fill in the expression of interest form.

Whether you have plenty of time to spare or only a little, and whatever your background or cancer experience, there is a variety of ways you can choose to contribute:

  • Tell us about your experience of cancer care: what worked well and what could have been better.
  • Become a patient representative. You can bring your expertise as a cancer patient, together with wider skills and experiences, to healthcare and research groups and become a valued member of their team.
