Teresa is Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board’s Executive Director of Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) and Health Science (HS). Teresa successfully applied for the new Executive Director of AHPs and HS post, taking up the role in August 2024. In this role, Teresa is one of the Health Board clinical executives, professionally responsible for a diverse range of Health Scientists and Allied Health Professions. Teresa also provides the executive leadership role for two Health Board teams – the Adult Mental Health and Learning Disabilities team, and the Health Board Welsh Language team.
Teresa initially trained and qualified as a Dietitian. After further qualifying as a secondary school teacher and undertaking the first North Wales Life Educator role for ‘Health Promotion Wales’ she worked at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd for a number of years in a community dietetics role. From this role, Teresa went onto become the Professional Adviser for AHPs in Wales before starting her Wales Deanery training in Public Health (PH) in 2004. After securing her Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in 2008, Teresa worked in the Public Health teams in Hereford, North Staffordshire, Wirral and Hywel Dda - progressing through Consultant to Executive Director roles. Teresa’s previous substantive role was as the Executive Director of PH in Betsi Cadwaladr from January 2017 to January 2024.
