George (Georgina) Roberts was appointed as our Interim Executive Director of People Services and Organisational Development (OD) in July 2025. The People Services and OD team include the HR (People) team, Occupational Health team, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion team, Workforce Systems and Optimisation team and the Organisational Development team. The teams are currently supporting the Heath Board with a large number of initiatives (too many to mention individually) some you might be aware of include the Culture Change programme, embedding our new Values and Behaviours framework, updating our Leadership and Development framework and the Foundations for the Future programme which is changing the operating model of the Health Board and will determine the way we work in the future, this programme has 5 workstreams – Strategy, Culture, People, Structures and processes.
George is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and has been a HR professional for 30 years in both the private and public sector. Prior to joining the Health Board in 2016, George has held senior HR and OD roles in the police service, local authority and the outdoor retail sectors.
Passionate about fairness, development, partnership working and collaboration George is a trained coach and mediator and has supported many colleagues over the years both within the organisations she has worked in but also in the wider public sector in North Wales.
This is in theory George’s second career path, her first being as an Outdoor Pursuits Instructor and Youth Leader in Devon and Cornwall for a number of years after leaving school, a love of the outdoors has resulted in George living most of her adult life in North Wales, having had spells volunteering for Mountain Rescue and the National Coastwatch Institution her spare time now is taken up in the mountains or on the coast or traveling with her husband in their campervan.
