Your COVID-19 Spring vaccine

People at highest risk of serious illness will be offered a COVID-19 Spring vaccine from April 2025

COVID-19 continues to circulate in Wales, and is more likely to cause serious illness for older people and people with underlying health conditions.

If you or your loved ones are eligible for a COVID-19 Spring vaccine, please make sure you have topped-up your protection. COVID-19 vaccines are quick and very safe, and reduce your risk of serious illness and hospital admission.

Am I eligible and how do I get a COVID-19 Spring vaccine?

The COVID-19 Spring vaccine will be offered to:

  • all adults aged 75 years and over
  • residents in care homes for older adults
  • all adults and children aged six months and over with a weaker immune system because of a health condition or medical treatment - more information about patients who are eligible because of weaker immunity is available here

Like our previous COVID-19 vaccination campaigns, anyone eligible for a Spring vaccine will be invited by letter. We will write to eligible people to offer an appointment in order of clinical priority. Appointments at our community vaccination centres will take place from mid-April onwards, and will run throughout May and June.

Our teams will arrange to vaccinate people who live in care homes for older adults with care home managers. We will also contact people who are housebound to arrange vaccination.
