The Welsh Government’s Baby Bundles programme offers eligible expectant parents a free package of essential items and helpful information to support you and your baby in the early weeks and months of life. The programme is part of wider efforts to support families and reduce financial pressure on new parents.

What is a Baby Bundle?

A Baby Bundle contains essential items to support new parents and their babies. Baby Bundles also include useful information and advice about parenting and support programmes.

Baby Bundles are provided at no cost to eligible expectant parents. The programme is funded by the Welsh Government.

Who can get one?

  • Your midwife will check your eligibility at your antenatal appointment around 16 weeks of pregnancy.
  • Registration normally happens with your midwife around 25–28 weeks.
  • If you miss registration during pregnancy for a valid reason, you can still be registered up to 4 months after your baby is born.
  • This includes parents having a baby through surrogacy, adoption, or foster care as long as the baby is under 4 months old.
