Families across North Wales are being encouraged to embrace the outdoors this summer and discover the wealth of free and low-cost adventures available on their doorstep through the Explore Outside! initiative.
As the summer holidays begin, families can make the most of the break by exploring local parks, beaches, woodlands, playgrounds and green spaces across the region. Spending time outdoors not only keeps children entertained but also supports their emotional health, wellbeing and development.
Research consistently shows that connecting with nature can improve mental health and wellbeing. Outdoor play encourages children and young people to be active, use their imagination, solve problems, take manageable risks and build confidence and independence. It also provides valuable opportunities for families to spend quality time together and strengthen their connection to the communities where they live.
