I CAN Community Hubs

I CAN Community Hubs offer a chance for you to talk through your problems over a cuppa, be listened to without judgement, and access the services and support you need.

They can be accessed on a drop in basis – without needing a referral from your GP or an appointment.

At I CAN Community Hubs you can access help and advice on a range of issues that may be troubling you, including debt, relationship breakdowns, drug or alcohol problems, employment difficulties, bereavement, housing and loneliness.

It’s OK not to be OK sometimes, so if you’re struggling for whatever reason, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. The kettle is always on and our friendly and experienced team of staff and volunteers are here to help you get back on track.

Also signposting to our own App Based Support, Silvercloud and other online or virtual support services including computerised Cognitive Behavioural Therapy based on an assessment of needs. Our bilingual Men’s Sheds Group meets here every Tuesday and Thursday 10.30 to 1.30pm. Women are welcome too.  We have a Community Garden Project, a Pottery Group and a Mindfulness Group. We run courses for Anxiety,  Depression and Self Esteem based on demand. We provide vouchers for the Blaenau Ffestiniog Food Bank.

This includes: online computerised Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (not counselling), Active Monitoring, befriending calls and courses such as Five Ways to Wellbeing, Mums Matter, My Generation, an LGBTQ+ support group, Living Life to the Full and Anxiety Management (these are all being run through zoom at the moment).

Anyone can drop in for a coffee and a chat, staff will assess the person and offer emotional support, signpost if applicable, allow access to IT equipment and phones if needed. We are looking to start promoting activities over the next few weeks – Allotments, reading club, walking. We are also offering support with our clients to use wellbeing apps on their phones.
