All-Wales Gambling Helpline and Gambling Treatment Service

A new Gambling Treatment Service and 24/7 NHS helpline is available to everyone in need of support in Wales.

The two services, delivered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB), are designed to support individuals and families affected by gambling-related harm, with a focus on early intervention, easier access, and joined-up care.

The 24/7 helpline also ensures people can receive the right support at the right time, regardless of where they live in Wales. It offers immediate access and if required the service offers structured treatment through a Welsh clinical service.

What the services offer:

  • A 24/7 free helpline for immediate support anywhere in Wales.

  • A specialist NHS gambling treatment service for structured, ongoing help.

How to access support:

All-Wales Gambling Helpline - call 0808 281 9265 (free from mobiles and landlines) or email gambling@helpline.wales.uk.

Gambling Treatment Service - referrals are welcome from any individual or professionals to the Treatment Service. Email: GamblingService@wales.nhs.uk or call 03000 859464.

When referring via email, individuals should include their name and contact telephone number. The Treatment Service voicemail is available outside of office hours.

Work is already underway to introduce a dedicated website and e-referral system, which will further simplify access. In the meantime, individuals and professionals can access the service directly via telephone and email.
