Emma has been an associate member of the board since taking up the role of Chair of the Health Professionals Forum in 2025.
Emma is the Consultant Midwife for BCUHB Maternity Services, which a broad role centred around clinical expertise, strategic development, leadership, and education, teaching and academic capability. Her particular passion is the provision of safe and effective midwifery care, physiological birth and supporting informed decision making.
Emma has a biological sciences background but decided to change careers after working as a breastfeeding peer supporter in Wrexham and following completion of her midwifery degree at Bangor University worked as an integrated midwife in Wrexham, before taking up the roles of Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Midwife for BCUHB and then Assistant Head of Midwifery and Sexual Health in Powys, before returning to North Wales for this, her dream role.
She has a Masters in Healthcare Science and is currently working towards a Professional Doctorate with the University of Chester.
Emma is married and mum to a teenage daughter and in her spare time loves travelling, walking, live music, fine dining and playing netball.
