Community Occupational Therapy Service

 

This specialist Occupational Therapy Service provides assessment and therapeutic intervention for a wide range of children who have complex physical or developmental conditions significantly affecting their ability to achieve their optimum level of independence and participation in childhood occupations.

 
Assessment of and intervention for:
Fine Motor skills
• Self -care
• Feeding
 Toileting
 Personal Care - teeth brushing, hair brushing etc.
 Scissor Skills
 Handwriting
 Upper-limb Assessment 
 Splinting of upper limbs if appropriate
 Manual handling 
 Environmental assessment within education settings 
 Postural and Positioning assessment 
 Equipment that aids in the above everyday skills.
