Incontinence or losing control of the bladder or bowel is a very common problem that is distressing and embarrassing. However, one the cause is found it can often easily be treated with the correct advice and intervention.
We are a team of Registered Nurses (Continence Advisors/ Nurses) working across North Wales. Continence Advisors/ Nurses have undertaken specialist training in continence management.
The Continence Advisory Service offers advice, assessment, treatment and management of bladder and bowel problems with the aim of curing or improving symptoms.
We see adults aged 16 years and over. For advice regarding children please contact your Health Advisor or School Nurse.
You can be referred for an assessment by your GP or any other health professional from whom you may be receiving care. You will be offered an appointment in a local hospital or health centre. Home visits will be offered to those who are housebound.
We offer specialist advice and training for our NHS colleagues and those in the independent sector.
