Dyfed Edwards carried out a cross-border visit this week visiting Alder Hey Children's and Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

Our Chair, Dyfed Edwards carried out a cross-border visit this week to discuss the partnership working arrangements that help to provide specialist care services to thousands of people from across North Wales every year.

Dyfed met with his counterparts at Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust (Dame Jo Williams) and Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (Val Davies).

The working arrangements in place with both specialist centres give patients from across North Wales access to the highest levels of care when they need it. This also involves our clinical teams working closely with colleagues in Liverpool to provide some of these services from our hospitals in North Wales, as well as in Liverpool.

Dyfed said “I was very glad to visit both Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust and Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. It was good to make contact with the respective Chairs and discuss the important services offered to North Wales patients. I also learnt of the ways both trusts are developing and their approach to improvement, much of which can help inform our improvement journey too."
