I CAN Volunteering

We’re looking for I CAN volunteers to provide emotional support for people across North Wales who are feeling isolated, anxious or low as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. This support can be delivered in a number of settings, including over the telephone from the comfort of your home.

I CAN volunteers usually provide support to people in North Wales hospitals, GP surgeries and I CAN Community Hubs. Due to the unprecedented challenge posed by COVID-19, we are recruiting more volunteers to help ensure that people who are physically isolated still feel socially connected and not alone during these difficult and uncertain times.

If you can spare a few hours to support people in your local community during their hour of need then please contact Kerry Grummert at ican@wales.nhs.uk. Please include your full name, contact telephone number, and let us know about any specific experience you have of supporting people with mental health challenges if possible, so that we can use your skills and experience appropriately.
