Family fun at the Betsi Games returning for third year

Family Fun at the third Betsi Games

NHS staff across North Wales are invited to the third annual Betsi Games on Saturday, 13 July.

The free family fun-day at Eirias Park is organised by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.

Teams of NHS workers compete in a school sports day-style events while raising money for good causes.

The Betsi Games is part of the Health Board’s wider strategy to promote healthy living, staff engagement, physical activity and improving the general health of its workforce.

Activities are available for all ages and abilities, including a tug of war, wellie wanging, rounders and a challenging 120ft inflatable obstacle course.

The event is organised by BCUHB graduate managers as part of their time within the Central Area Team.

Robyn Watson, Graduate Manager for Primary and Community Care, said: “We’re hoping our third Betsi Games will be our biggest and best yet.

“More than 150 people attended last year, and we’re hoping to double that number with this year’s event.

“Teams of between eight and 20 can enter, and we want to welcome colleagues from across North Wales to take part in what is a really fun day.

“Teams are made up of staff, friends and families. Children are welcome to attend and almost all the activities will have children only events.

Teams from local authorities, community groups and charities are invited to enter their own teams to compete alongside teams of NHS staff across North Wales.

Robyn added “This year we’ll welcome teams from partner organisations to take part as well.

“The Games have been really successful over the last couple of years, and hopefully we can bring more organisations together for what will be a really fun event.”
